Results of Seminar Games Development (WS14/15)

12 amazing small games made it into the iOS AppStore! 24 students developed them during the Seminar Games Development with iOS (WS14/15) using Swift and SpriteKit:

CircleFever

CircleFever tests your reflexes. Catch the symbols with corresponding forms by rotating up and down your game circles! (by Christoph Erl and Johann Rottenfußer)

Fluffy Run

Help Fluffy ducklings through a world full of abysses. Tap on the ducklings to jump and fly, and save as many as possible! (by Monika Wintergerst and Alexander Richter)

Food Chain

Food Chain: Control a mouse and navigate it through a maze to reach the tasty cheese. But be aware of cats - they are hungry, too! (by Timo Lamprecht and Jana Pejic)

Galactic Defense

Galactic Defense: Defend your galaxy with your spaceship. B fast and cautious because the enemies will try to shoot in your direction! (by Marius Schulz and Ledian Xhani)

Glitch 'em up

Glitch 'em up: Board the cockpit and dodge asteroids! Glitches bend spacetime. Are you able to use them for your advantage?. (by Michael Wang and Fabian Manhardt)

Keep Up

Keep Up the ball on platforms and reach as many platforms you can. Get the highscore and challenge your friends via GameCenter! (by Florian Ruppert and Wenbo Huang)

Mobius 3D

Mobius 3D is inspired by a moebius strip. It's orientation-less and endless. You lose your mind, but you collect as many coins as possible! (by Maximilian Flis and Fei Pan)

Monster Roly

In Monster Roly you help Roly to get to his favorite food - donuts. Tilt your device to roll Roly. Be careful: the world is a dangerous place! (by Ute Schiehlen and Stefan Cimander)

Saws

Saws is a 2D game in which you move a bird around to find the lost baby bird. Be careful not to touch the saws! (by Jan Göbel and Parisa Elahidoost)

Shifuban

Shifuban: You're ship was hit by canon causing holes and water gushing. Move the barrels onto the holes and rescue the ship! (by Anja Kastenmayer and Henning Helmbrecht)

Tiny Wizard

In Tiny Wizard you control a wizard to protect the Tree of Life. Several enemies like orcs and thieves attack not only the tree but also our tiny hero! (by Daniel Peter and Alba Xhani)

Wormcraft

Wormcraft is a two player 3D game. Destroy the enemy team with a grenade or bazooka by demolishing the surrounding environment! (by Shivam Agrawal and Lukas Kick)

Seminar Games Development with iOS (WS14/15)

Swift We offer the Seminar Games Development with iOS again as a block course in September between Monday, 9 September 2014 and Friday, 19 September 2014. Interested students can apply for it by filling out the application form on the course page.

In the first week of the seminar we introduce Apple's new programming language Swift, Xcode 6 and iOS 8. Students also learn how to develop games using Apple's powerful iOS frameworks like SpriteKit and SceneKit. In the second week students develop their first game for iOS (supported by experienced supervisors and tutors), demonstrate and publish it into the iOS App Store.

1 on 1 Soccer

1on1 Soccer is a multiplayer soccer game that can be played against a friend on the same device via split screen! (by Thomas Krex and Chen Wenwen)

Calc(H)it

In Calc(H)it you solve mathematical equations by selecting the correct bubbles in a limited amount of time! (by Ralf Glawe and Andreas Hofbauer)

Fast Road

FastRoad is a game for car race lovers. Do not collide with traffic and drive as many miles as possible! (by Fabian Isele and Shatki Saxena)

Forest Defense

Forest Defense is a casual defense game where evil humans assault your forest with monstrous diggers. (by Nikolaos Tzioras and Roman Maier)

Hexedrez

Hexedrez is a turn-based board game. Its name is a combination of hexagon and ajedrez (Spanish for chess). (by Maximilian Tharr and Paul Tolstoi)

Jumpy Jump

Keep Space Monkey alive by jumping through space! Beware of rocks! (by Adrian Haarbach and Rishigesh Murugesh)

The Mazy Escape

The Mazy Escape is an adaptation of the dexterity game Labyrinth. Navigate through the maze to escape it! (by Artur Grunau and Emilia Markovska)

No Operation

No Operation is our take on the Twin-Stick Shooter Genre. Control an aircraft and survive as long as possible. (by Andreas Reiser and Benjamin Schagerl)

Project Neon

Project Neon is a mixture of pinball and physics. Apply impulses on the ball to destroy all bricks! (by Julius Appelhagen and Max Wandinger)

Spinsane

SpInsane is a single player puzzle game. The goal is to line up four or more items of the same color. (by Nadine Frankenberg and Ulrich Konrad)

Tomato

Tomato Splash is a combination of strategy and action-game. Throw tomatoes on your enemies! (by Benjamin Strobel and Martin Schwörer)

Trikon

TRIcon is a fun game with immense addiction factor. Control a ship via motion over a deep abyss! (by Alexander Bielski and Timm Beckmann)

Noah's 20, Spooky's Castle and BreakTacular in the AppStore

Three adventure games - developed in the Seminar Games Development with iOS (SS13) - finally made it into the iOS AppStore.

Noah's 20

Noah needs your help! He tries to rescue the animals into his arch while the great flood is coming, but he needs someone who steers his ship! God challenges Noah with throwing objects that complicate Noahs plan to catch the animals. Luckily god also throws good things at Noahs ark (by Isabel Max and Pascal Schliski)

Spooky Spooky hasn't been a ghost for very long, and he still has a lot to learn! Guide him through obstacles on his way through the castle by tilting your device. Breaktacular

Space Defense

Space Defense is a Tower Defense game where the player protects his planet from incoming spaceships. By destroying a spaceship the player gets credits, that he can use to build cannons. He can also get credits by collecting the diamonds appearing randomly on the map. (by Benedikt Loebbecke and Christian Eichhorn)

We offer the Seminar Games Development with iOS again in the winter term 2013/14 as block course in the first 2 weeks of October 2013. Interested students can apply for it by filling out the application form on the course page starting on Wednesday, June 26, 11:00 am.

In the first week of the seminar we introduce Objective-C, Xcode 5 and iOS 7 and students learn how to develop games using Apple's powerful iOS frameworks like SpriteKit. In the second week students develop their first game for iOS (supported by experienced supervisors and tutors), demonstrate and publish it into the iOS App Store.

FishyFish adventure game available in the AppStore

Help FishyFish find his way through the endless depth of the ocean. Fishy will meet a lot of sea creatures on his adventures. Some will harm him, others will help him.

Two students, Thomas Seidl and Andreas Preg, developed the nice little adventure game during the Seminar Games Development with iOS (WS 12/13). Application for Seminar Games Development (SS13) is now possible

The Seminar Games Development with iOS will be offered again in the summer term 2013. Interested students can apply for it by filling out the application form on the course page.

In the first two weeks of April 2013, the seminar is held as a block course before the lectures start. Students first learn in interactive presentations how to work with Xcode 4.6 and how to program in Objective-C.
